Our place gets proper weather. Wind off the coast, sideways rain, that damp chill that creeps in and makes you dread January. I wanted big glass, but I didn’t want to pay for something that looked stunning and then felt cold, rattly, or ‘delicate’. The dream was a bright room that still felt warm and protected.
They didn’t oversell it. We had the basics explained in plain English, including why a thermally broken system matters, and what the options meant in day-to-day life. It felt like a proper engineering conversation, just without the lecture. We also talked through security upgrades in a calm, matter-of-fact way, rather than making it feel like a scare story.

The biggest surprise was sound. With the doors shut, the room stopped feeling ‘exposed’. No whistling, no little drafts you can’t locate. The glide is quiet and smooth, and the whole thing feels sealed and solid, which is what we needed to relax.
Friends expected that slightly hollow glass-house vibe. Instead, it felt cosy. The comments were all the same: ‘It’s warm in here,’ and ‘It’s so quiet,’ followed by someone inevitably standing at the glass like they’re in a boutique hotel, staring out at the view with a cup of tea.
